Miss Aniela

Working in an original, complex style that balances the intricacies of contemporary fashion and blends with classical art history, Miss Aniela creates artworks reminiscent of the Rococo Revival and the salon paintings of the 18th century.

Spearheading the movement of avant-garde art photography is the award-winning British artist; Miss Aniela; an artist that has twice received the honour of being named Saatchi’s ‘One to Watch’.

Miss Aniela got her first dose of recognition in 2006 when she was a student; she was invited to exhibit internationally and speak for Microsoft. This first step led to the journey that her work has been on in the 14 years since. By fusing elements of contemporary fashion with characteristics of classical art history, Miss Aniela has created a style balanced on a complex and detailed blend of contemporary classical originality.

Through her inventive fusion of detailed compositions and evocative lighting, Miss Aniela’s work has the power to call to mind the style of the Rococo Revival and the flawless attributes of the 18th century salon paintings.

Miss Aniela’s ‘Surreal Fashion’ collection has proven to be a fruitful endeavour, sought after by art collectors around the world and also being displayed in luxury venues such as the Crillon Hotel Paris and Paradise Resort Korea.

She has exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery, the Houses of Parliament and Waldemarsudde Museum Sweden; her work has also been regularly featured on worldwide media channels including BBC, NY Arts, Daily Mail and El Pais.

Commercial clients of Miss Aniela have included Nikon, HTC, and there have been several large-scale artworks commissioned for some of the most prestigious restaurants in London.

2018 saw a collaboration with the renowned Chinese fashion designer; Guo Pei. This collaborative effort was documented by the BBC in Beijing. Miss Aniela was also commissioned by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism to shoot a series of fantasy-fused still shots as well as a TV ad campaign with the objective of capturing the ‘Spirit of Cayman’; moving away from the typical cliché methods of most tourism advertising campaigns.

2018 also had Miss Aniela spotlighted in Saatchi Art’s ‘Invest in Art’ 2018 and ‘Refuse to be the Muse’ report on the growing power and independence of women photographers.

Currently, the artist is based in Southern England with her producer-partner Matt Lennard. They are both experienced in providing the full production process for their personal and professional assignments. They are also well connected and have a network of artists experienced in videography and CGI which facilitates their ever-growing need for state of the art, revolutionary artistry.

This 4-year major project saw Natalie awarded the title of ND Photographer of the Year 2019, 12th Julia Margaret Cameron Award 2018, as well as a finalist position in Mother Art Prize, Kuala Lumpur Portrait Prize, and the British Journal of Photography’s ‘Portrait of Humanity’ 2019.
