Carolina Arbuthnot

Carolina Arbuthnot was born in Chile, but has spent most of her life in England. Although Carolina studied medicine at Liverpool University and works as a haematologist, she has continued and developed her childhood passion for art and is self-taught.

Over the past few years she has been exhibiting and selling at venues around Birmingham but more recently at local specialised galleries. Carolina creates her pieces using mixed media including acrylic, resin, diamond frost, glitter and gems. She loves adding the feeling of glamour and sparkle into her pieces and more recently has been experimenting with silver leaf.

Her paintings are ultimately derived from her imagination depicting love, friendship and emotion. She particularly loves painting woodland scenes as she imagines birds singing together and butterflies fluttering into the distance which ties to the spiritual emotion of her work. She paints a variety of woodland animals portraying the love, strength and family bond she sees there.

Carolina lives in Warwickshire with her family and takes her inspiration from the beautiful countryside around her.
